Bowling House – Cocktail Challenge!

Do you think you have what it takes to get a drink on the Bowling House menu? We are holding an open challenge to the cocktail enthusiasts of Norwich. Come up with a cocktail based on your favourite film. Submit your recipe to us by emailing [email protected] with the subject line ‘Cocktail Comp’. Closing date for entries is Friday the 18th September 2026. The competition is open to professionals and amateurs alike all we ask is you bring a passion for innovation and a sense of fun!

The six most interesting drinks will be put into our live final on Tuesday 29th September 2026, where, if you are selected, you will be invited behind the bar to rustle up your recipe. You are welcome to use anything on our backbar or in our stores in the creation of your drink you can use anything that you can think of, but if we don’t have it on the bar – you will need to bring it to the finals yourself. The cocktail will be judged on flavour, theme, and creativity by the Bowling House bar team. There will also be bonus points for ease of service we are going to put this onto our working menu. The live final will be open to spectators and supporters alike.

Cocktail Week Opening Night with live music from Archie Beck

We’re kicking off Norwich Cocktail Week with the launch of our brand-new Dark & Stormy Apple Pie, made with award-winning Norfolk dark spiced rum, pressed apple, vanilla seed and cinnamon, with a little spoonful of apple crumble on the side.

Or for those who fancy a not so tipsy treat! Our Apple & Spiced Pumpkin Spritz, Norwich Cocktail Week Special mocktail, made with cloudy apple, pumpkin spice syrup, fresh lemon juice and soda with a cinnamon stick straw.

The cocktail might be dark & stormy, but the soundtrack certainly isn’t.

Archie Beck brings the soul, with that gorgeous old-soul voice, acoustic guitar and his own effortless take on classics you know and love. Folk, blues, indie and plenty of songs you’ll find yourself singing along to.

Cocktails, soul food and one seriously soulful Friday night. This is a dining event. Book your table, settle in for dinner and enjoy Archie live while we launch Cocktail Week in true Harry’s style.

Rum tastings, fun facts, rum stories and maybe even a little cocktail mixing along the way.

All Norfolk Rum Cocktails will be included in happy hour 5-7pm

No separate ticket. No stuffy tasting session. Just book a table for dinner and join in the rum-fuelled fun while you dine.
